Description:
The ultimate in maintenance free plantings, choke cherries are ideal for the middle row of shelter belts and wildlife plants on farms acreages and wildlife areas.

Chokecherries are largely indifferent to soil type and climatic conditions, growing in sun or shade, wet or dry soils. White flowers bloom late in the spring. Fruit changes colour three times from green to yellow and then black. Berries are good for wines and jellies. The bark is used in wild cherry cough syrup and the wood is used for furniture making.
