Description:
While the primary use for wheat straw is for bedding of animals, it can also be used as a supplementary food source. Because straw has a low protein content (4.5%) compared to second cut alfalfa (15%) and low energy content it can be fed free choice without fear of your horses getting fat over the winter. Cattle and other ruminants will also use straw as a supplemental feed as a distraction and for variety much the same way that humans eat popcorn. This straw is baled by a 2010 John Deere 568 baler with plastic twine. |
