The Swedish aspen is a favorite tree for tight spaces. It is fast growing and will reach heights of 50 ft (15m) but only has a width of 6ft (2m).
Narrow columnar growth habit, amber fall leaf colour, Suited for small yards, as a screen, specimen or vertical accent. The medium green leaves turn a rusty yellow in the fall. Can be planted next to a house as its roots are smaller and shallow and do not present as much danger to the water supply of septic system as do the other poplars
The Swedish Aspen are all male clones so there is no "poplar fluff" The planted trees do not produce many suckers or basal shoots.
