Description:
Plant Bee Balm in area that receives full sun or light shade, southern and western exposures are ideal but avoid locations that receive little air movement because of the susceptibility to powdery mildew. Bee Balm responds well to drip irrigation, otherwise the plants must be watered in the morning at the base of the leaves to prevent powdery mildew. Since Bee Balm grows up to 40" tall they are most suitable at the back of the planting in small groups. Bee Balm can be divided every 3-4 years to prevent overcrowding.
