Description:
The Dropmore Linden is a hybrid between the American and little leaf linden that is characterized by dark green foliage and a dense pyramidal shape. The Dropmore variety is faster growing than the little leaf linden but is able to withstand more severe weather. The most recognizable feature of the Dropmore Linden is the leaf size that can extend to as long as 6 inches and 5 inches across. Makes one the best leaf piles to jump into in the fall. Best grown on deep fertile soils to accommodate a long wide spreading root system that makes this tree moderately wind firm. They do not like low lying areas that are flood prone, nor do they do particularly well on very dry sites The Dropmore Linden likes full sun and due to the innocuous nature of its fruit pods, it is suitable for planting around decks, patios and porches. |
