Description:
September Ruby looks like a smaller version Red Delicious apple with wider shoulders and a narrow base. Its firm, greenish white flesh is extremely tasty. Its probably a good cooking apple but they always seem to get eaten before they make it to the kitchen. The panel of experts at Mr. V's rated the September Ruby as one of the four best eating apples that we sell along with the Norkent, Prairie Magic and Schaffer Applecrab.

Like all high latitude hardy apple trees, the September Ruby Apple grows to about 20 feet tall, has white non fragrant blossoms that appear just as the leaves are breaking bud. The dark green leaves that turn orange in the fall.

The September Ruby is a Mid season apple that requires a different apple variety as a cross pollinator to produce fruit. Since it is a mid season tree, it can cross with a different variety of early, mid or late season apples. Taste this apple in Mr. V's demonstration orchard.
