September Ruby looks like a smaller version Red Delicious apple
with wider shoulders and a narrow base. Its firm, greenish white
flesh is extremely tasty. Its probably a good cooking apple but
they always seem to get eaten before they make it to the kitchen.
The panel of experts at Mr. V's rated the September Ruby as one of
the four best eating apples that we sell along with the Norkent,
Prairie Magic and Schaffer Applecrab.
Like all high latitude hardy apple trees, the September Ruby
Apple grows to about 20 feet tall, has white non fragrant blossoms
that appear just as the leaves are breaking bud. The dark green
leaves that turn orange in the fall.
The September Ruby is a Mid season apple that requires a
different apple variety as a cross pollinator to produce fruit.
Since it is a mid season tree, it can cross with a different
variety of early, mid or late season apples. Taste this apple in
