Description:

Developed by Agriculture Canada in the 1960's, this mid season apple was rated by Mr. V's panel of experts as one of our top four eating apples along with the September Ruby, Prairie Magic and Schaffer Applecrab. Similar taste to the Golden Delicious. Large fruit. Matures late early September.

Like all high latitude hardy apple trees, the Norkent Apple grows to about 20 feet tall, has white non fragrant blossoms that appear just as the leaves are breaking bud. The dark green leaves that turn orange in the fall.

The Norkent is a mid season apple that requires a different apple variety as a cross pollinator to produce fruit. Since it is a mid season tree, it can cross with a different variety of early, mid or late season apples. Taste this apple in Mr. V's demonstration orchard.
